The PTSA has identified three main objectives for our work – to connect, serve and support our school – and we look forward to your involvement with our organization.
Connect: The PTSA endeavors to create meaningful connections amongst members of our school community. We represent the students, parents, guardians, and family members at DSA as well as the entire faculty and staff. We hope to inspire meaningful dialogue and interactions between our members enabling us to achieve the PTSA vision of making every child’s potential a reality.
Serve: The PTSA encourages family members as well as members of the local community to volunteer at our school. The time and talent of our members are the most important assets we have as an organization. Please consider serving our school community in one of the following ways this school year: Proctoring Exams; Serving on a PTSA Committee; Grounds Clean-up; Teacher Recognition; and Student Recognition.
Support: The PTSA provides funding for a variety of events and programs contributing to the quality of the educational environment at DSA. Examples include support for the creative arts, Media Center, grants, and awards. The 2011-2012 PTSA budget will be shared with the school community at the September general membership meeting. It will come as no surprise we engage in a variety of events to provide financial support to the school. We do not expect our members to participate in every event but we do hope you will share your resources with the school in ways meaningful for your family. The following events will be sponsored by the PTSA this school year: Book Fair; Grants; Great Human Race; Grocery Rebates; Reflections; Spirit Sales; Student Awards; and Teacher Appreciation.
